Economically, South America is known for its natural resources, including significant reserves of minerals, oil, and agricultural products. Brazil and Argentina are the largest economies on the continent.
South America has a vibrant cultural heritage with contributions to literature, music, dance (such as tango and samba), and cuisine. It is also known for its biodiversity, containing many unique species of plants and animals. Popular tourist destinations include Machu Picchu in Peru, the Iguazu Falls on the Argentina-Brazil border, and the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador.
